About Me
I am Dorothee Tshiela! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Minnesota and provide telehealth services to clients located in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, and North Dakota, when clinically appropriate and based on availability.
Services must be provided to clients physically located in the state where I am licensed at the time of the session.
I work with teens and adults who are carrying a lot whether it’s anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, depression, or just trying to keep it together when life won’t slow down. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy that’s real, affirming, and rooted in connection (with a little humor when it helps).
Outside of the therapy room, I provide mental health and wellness trainings and workshops for schools, nonprofits, and community groups.
If you’re ready to feel a little more like yourself again let’s start Envisioning Wellness together.
What Envisioning Wellness Means in My Practice
At Envisioning Wellness, therapy is a collaborative, trauma-informed process rooted in compassion and cultural responsiveness. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to support and guide you as we make sense of your experiences together.
We’ll explore what’s been getting in the way, recognize what has helped you cope and survive, and develop strategies that align with your values and vision. My goal is to create a space that feels grounded and supportive, where you can show up fully and at your own pace.
My Approach to Therapy
I work with teenagers (ages 14–17) and adults. I currently see clients on Thursday afternoons and all day Fridays.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and culturally responsive. I show up as my full self in the therapy room direct, compassionate, and real. I believe meaningful change happens within a relationship built on trust, honesty, and respect. I have worked extensively with people from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, including immigrants and first-generation Americans. While I do not hold an LGBTQ+ identity, I strive to offer an affirming, respectful, and safe space for LGBTQ+ clients.
I take time to get to know not just you, but the context you live in your story, your people, and your pace. Therapy with me often includes laughter, alongside space for deep and sometimes difficult work. It isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our work is collaborative, flexible, and grounded in trust, so you can feel supported in a way that feels human rather than clinical or distant.
I provide compassion-focused, culturally responsive therapy that is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in your lived experience.
My work is informed by evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches. As an eclectic therapist, I blend modalities thoughtfully, based on your needs rather than forcing you into a rigid model.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Minnesota, and I am also licensed to provide counseling in Wisconsin and North Dakota.
At this time, I offer telehealth therapy allowing clients to receive care from the comfort and privacy of their own space. Availability is limited for in person sessions.
If you’re wondering whether we might be a good fit, you’re welcome to reach out with questions.

A Little More About Me
When I’m not in session, I’m probably listening to music 90s and early 2000s R&B and hip-hop are always on repeat. Some of my favorite artists? Jazmine Sullivan, Adele, Tems, Victoria Monét, Doechii, Ari Lennox, Beyoncé, Paramore, Glorilla and her crew, Wizkid, Missy Elliott, Rihanna, Kendrick , and of course, Megan Thee Stallion (aka the Hot Girl Coach aka the Houston Hottie).
Real Hot Girl Sh— 😁🤭
I love The Read podcast, and TikTok keeps me laughing on the rough days.
Over the years, I’ve fallen in love with yoga, and recently added Pilates to the mix.
I also enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, taking walks by the lake, and traveling.
I believe joy, connection, and rest are just as important to healing as reflection and growth. Therapy with me includes space for all of it.
